The Guild

What is it?

The Guild games mimic some of the aspects of Adventurers League, but allowing more flexibility in order to prioritize the fun and fluidity of playing Dungeons & Dragons.

How many characters can I have?

You can have up to 4 characters, one per tier of play:

  • 1 to 4
  • 5 to 10
  • 11 to 16
  • 17 to 20

How will my character advance?

You earn Treasure Points and Advancement points like in Adventurers League, but you get to keep all the gold and treasure that you get in your adventures!

Will we only play Adventurers League official modules?

Not at all, and that’s the beauty of the Guild, we will be able to play homebrew adventures or even published adventures. Of course, they will require some revision before we “allow” them. (We don’t want any level 1 adventurer having a Staff of the Magi… right?

So, can I join any game?

As long as you submit your character and it gets approved, sure!

Approving my character?

Yes, there are some rules to apply in order to ensure some consistency across characters and avoid min-maxing ingame. We want adventures to be fun for everybody. Just head to the next section to see the character rules.

Rules for Character Creation

Character creation for adventures that wish to join The Guild is easy. Simply head up to one of the DnDBeyond shared campaigns listed below, and create your character. Once you do, send the Shareable link of your character through the #characters-submission channel in our Discord chat mentioning our @Chroma Enclave and once they review it, we will add it to our website and remove it from the campaign.

Basic rules

  • You can use the Players Handbook + 2 other books.
  • They can come from ANY official book from Wizards of the Coast, that includes Ravnica and Eberron. But unfortunately we don’t want to open the “Homebrew Gates” as it would require too much control to make it fun for the DMs.
  • Your Starting Equipment is the same one that DnDBeyond will offer you once you create a character plus some other items depending on the Tier of play of your character (see those below)
  • Please, allow us a waitlist of a week to review your character and approve it. We’ve jobs, families and of course other matters to attend to. Once your character is approved, a member of The Guild will contact you and ask you to remove your character from the Campaign in DnDBeyond in order to allow room for other characters.

Starting Equipment

This is the list of starting equipment available to characters based on their Tier.
